At Scott’s Hill Hardware, our story spans generations, weaving together the threads of family, tradition, and an unrelenting drive to provide exceptional service to our customers.

It all began in 1978 when Jerry and his uncle Roy Barnhill opened the doors of Junction Hardware in Monkey Junction. Little did they know that this humble beginning would lay the foundation for a legacy that would endure for decades to come.

In 1982, Jerry and his wife Nina relocated to Rocky Point, renaming the store Rocky Point Hardware and embarking on a new chapter of their journey.

After a decade of hard work and dedication, the Barnhills made the pivotal decision to move their business to Wilmington, establishing a new home at the corner of Market St. and Futch Creek Rd. This move marked a turning point, as the family-owned hardware store began to flourish and attract a loyal customer base drawn to their exceptional service and commitment to quality.

Five years later, Jerry and Nina decided to retire, passing the torch to their son Johnny, who represented the third generation of the Barnhill family to carry on the legacy. With a deep-rooted passion for the business and a keen understanding of the industry, Johnny embraced the challenge, driving the company’s growth and expansion.

In 2005, Scott’s Hill Hardware & Supply Co. moved into a spacious 10,000-square-foot building on Market Street, a physical manifestation of their success and a testament to their unwavering dedication.

Today, with additional locations in Raleigh and Myrtle Beach, the company has grown to employ a team of dedicated individuals united by a shared commitment to excellence.
